Discover Your Island

Safe Zone

Safe Zone trainings are facilitated by the Inclusive Islander Network and are for students, faculty, and staff. Trainings focus on the appropriate use of vocabulary specific to the LGBTQ+ community, a brief overview of history and current law, and a sociological perspective overview of sexual orientation, gender expression, and gender identity.

Becoming Safe Zone certified means you are a safe ally for members of the LGBTQ+ community and are working to create a safe and open environment for everyone on our campus.

If you are interested in scheduling or attending a Safe Zone Training contact us via email, phone, or in person at our office, number 204 in the University Center.
